Miss Fox
Currently, I am a first-year teacher in North Carolina. As I’m not an experienced teacher, I am fully aware that I don’t know a damned thing.
That’s why I’m here. To share, to learn, and to vent.
I’m a North Carolina Teaching Fellow who graduated from a rather good university in 2008. I teach third grade in a district known for its needy schools, though we are surrounded by businesses and universities and have formed partnerships that provide outstanding resources for our students. My school has a population that is roughly half black and half hispanic (less than 4% of the population is listed as “other”), and most students are on free or reduced lunch. That being said, the families are involved, the students are extremely sweet, and we are doing very well in terms of test scores in the district. I am very proud to be a teacher in this district.
I’m opinionated, crude, funny, honest, compassionate, sexy, and I believe that teachers are real people with real experiences and that they should be able to share them with their students, rather than pretend that they have no life outside of their classroom.
